Stay Informed About Statutes of Limitations

Posted on April 26, 2013

If you or your business has had unpaid tax liability due to the IRS for many years, at some point in time the IRS may not be able to legally collect the liability from you.  The collection statute of limitation generally allows the IRS to collect money from you or your business for ten years following the date of assessment, absent any extensions.  The IRS is legally barred from collecting money from you or your business after the expiration of the collection statute of limitation.  We recently positioned a case in such a way that the collection statute of limitation expired, thereby saving our client over $125,000.00!  If you or your business owe money to the IRS, call us, we can help.
