Services: IRS Collection Efforts: Bank Levy
IRS Collection of an Unpaid Tax Liability
The IRS, by serving a levy on your bank, can take all of the money in your bank account. The IRS uses Form 668-A, Notice of Levy. If an IRS revenue officer has issued a bank levy, you have twenty-one (21) days in which to obtain bank levy release. If bank levy release is not obtained within that twenty-one day period, under Form 668-A ALL of the money in that bank account up to what you owe including IRS interest and penalties will be sent to the IRS.
Since 1991, Patrick T. Sheehan & Associates, Attorneys at Law, P.C. has successfully represented taxpayers facing bank levy and has obtained bank levy release, solving their tax problems.
